What is Aruba 30x30?
OUR OCEAN, OUR FUTURE
30×30 is a global commitment to protect at least 30% of the world’s land and ocean by 2030. Aruba has incorporated this commitment into its National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) 2024–2030, which outlines the island’s priorities for protecting and restoring biodiversity.
Our ocean supports marine life, livelihoods, and our way of life. Through Aruba 30×30, the Government of Aruba is working to identify marine areas for protection, supporting a healthier and more abundant ocean for future generations.
A healthy ocean brings many benefits
Explore how healthy marine ecosystems support Aruba's people, nature, and future.
Healthy marine ecosystems provide essential habitats for fish and other marine life. Scientific research shows that well-managed marine protected areas can support fish populations and, under suitable conditions, benefit fisheries in surrounding waters.
